I am getting lots of calls from people who are 'key/front line' workers wondering about childcare arrangements for the coming weeks.
As you may have heard, the Welsh Government has acknowledged the need to provide help to keep those who need to be in work, in work.
The local authority has advised us that they are making arrangements for this and should be releasing details in the next 24 hours.
As a school we have been asked to make a list of which of parents who fall into the following categories...
Medical professionals including doctors, nurses, midwives, paramedics etc.
Other health workers - such as employment in a medical/health setting
Community safety - police force and fire brigade
Education - teachers, classroom support staff, school cleaners/caretakers etc
Workers in childcare/early years settings
Social care/domiciliary care works
Council staff who will be involved in key roles e.g. streetscene operatives, drivers, school escorts, catering staff etc
This is a provisional list and may be subject to change, but it is the only list I currently have. I need to get the information back to county by 11am tomorrow.
Can I ask that you email school, email@example.com with your name and occupation and the names and ages of your children as soon as possible? If you believe yourself to be or have been told by your line manager that you are a front line worker but your job title is not on that list then can you also email as it may be this list is out of date.
As soon as I have details of arrangements I will pass the information on, but at the moment I know nothing more than this...Thank you once again for the patience you are showing regarding this.
