I ran a session at the start of term about our ethos and methods of dealing with behaviour. I just wanted to add a bit of an update for you.
We are constantly working as a staff to have a consistent approach where positive relationships are central. We recognise that children communicate their needs via their behaviour. As a school we look beyond the behaviour and focus on the needs of the individual. We know that children need support to keep emotionally regulated and support to cope in many different situations.
We strive to provide compassion and be as supportive as possible. No one is ever intentionally shamed and we stand by our School Rules:- Ready, Respectful and Safe.
Behaviour is handled in a calm manner with restorative conversations. We hope that this will build compassion and empathy for others.
