Why learn to play a musical instrument?

Children from Year 2 to Year 5 will be getting a letter today about music lessons in school for next year.
Flintshire music service provide the lessons and all children will be taught in small groups during school hours.  Lessons are normally 30 mins.  Learning an instrument in school can help to improve behaviour, memory and provide a new skill.
Lessons are fun and tailored to individual needs and can build up to music examinations.  
In Maesglas our pupils can opt for Guitar and Violin.  Flintshire Music Service have access to instruments and do operate a loan scheme.
