Hand Foot and Mouth

30/11/2015

We have a few cases of hand, foot and mouth in school.  There is no specific treatment for hand, foot and mouth. The condition usually clears up by itself after 7-10 days.
The NHS guidelines state  that
you should keep them away from school while they are feeling unwell. They can usually return as soon as they feel better. There is no need to keep your child away from school until the last blister has healed, providing they are otherwise well.

The best way to avoid catching and spreading is to remember the following.
  • always wash your hands after going to the toilet or handling nappies, and before preparing food
  • encourage infected children to wash their hands regularly
  • avoid sharing utensils with people who are infected.
  • make sure work surfaces are clean
  • clean any bedding or clothing that could have been contaminated with droplets of saliva, blister fluid or stools in a hot wash

A huge well done to all our Year 1 children who got on the stage this afternoon for the class service.  They were super confident and excited to share all about their topic. I am very proud of them all.
Many thanks to all those that joined us this afternoon to watch.
Special thanks to Mrs Pearce and Mrs Roberts for putting together the service at such a busy time of year.

Stars in our schools is a celebration of school support staff.
UNISON has organised the day to celebrate the wonderful work support staff do every day and to make sure the world knows just how vital they are to children’s education.
We had a special assembly to give all our support staff certificates to thank them and show how much we appreciate everything they do in school.
Many Thanks to you all.

Just a reminder that tickets are on sale for the performances.  These are £2.50 each and there is a 2 ticket limit.  On Wednesday spares will go on sale.
The money will go towards our defibrillator.
I am aware that we clash with the Rotary Clubs Christmas Float.  I am trying to contact them to see if we can arrange a stop at school after the performance on Monday.
