Half Term

26/10/2018

The half term has flown by and so much has been achieved.
I am sure the dinosaur event yesterday was a real highlight for lots of the FP children. The tweets looked amazing.

Our 'Friends of'  have had a successful half term with the movie night and disco.  Thanks to all the team for organising and giving up their time.  Watch out for some new events next half term.

We have had a chat to the children about Halloween today.
Please see below the tips we have talked about to  ‘Keep Safe on Halloween’
  • Always go trick or treating with an adult
  • Only go to houses where you or your friend know the residents
  • Don’t knock on doors where there are signs saying ‘No Callers’
  • Stay in areas that are lit with street lights – take a torch with you just in case
  • Stay with your friends – don’t split into smaller groups unless an adult goes with you
  • Don’t talk to strangers on the street
  • Don’t enter any house, stay on the doorstep
  • Although Halloween is supposed to be spooky, be careful not to frighten elderly people
  • Always look carefully before crossing the road, even if you are part of a group
  • Be visible
Finally,  respect older and vulnerable people, and their needs, particularly during the Halloween period.

I hope you all have a great half term. My sincere thanks, as always, to all the staff for the continued hard work.  I hope you all have a well earned break.

We will see you all back on Monday 5th November.

Remember you can call in to Open Evening tomorrow and Thursday.  No appointment needed.  Staff will be around for an informal chat and you can look at the work in books.

Our Pupil Governors have organised a pumpkin carving competition for next week.
They would like children from Nur to Year 6 to bring in a carved pumpkin of any design.  This will cost £1 per pumpkin.
There will be prizes for each year group.
They will be using the money they make to buy new PE equipment.
All pumpkins need to go home on Thursday.
Good Luck and Happy Carving.
