We still have a lot of unclaimed lost property.
Anything left at the end of today will be donated to the charity shop. Call in and have a look. We have Credit Union First savers in school.
Some Yr 6 parents are asking about withdrawals. You can collect a Withdrawal Request Slip from the office. You then take it with the savings book to Credit Union and you can access the money. If you are interested in opening an account please get in touch. We have had a sort of our library this week.
There are some older books that we will be selling to make way for new stock. They are available tomorrow for 20p each. We will hopefully get the books out on the yard after school. THANK YOU parents for being a part of our wonderful school in 2017 - 2018.
Our Year 6 are more than ready to move on – we've done as much as we can do and it is time for them to explore all that High School can offer them. We love to hear how they are progressing. Stay in touch and keep us posted. I find it hard to believe the incredible progress all of our children make. The recent Class Assemblies were amazing. Parents – make sure that you treasure these times with your children – they go so fast. As I reflect on another year I think about the achievements, the fun times and the hard work. Amongst the staff we have had weddings and babies. Most recently Mr Williams has become a proud dad to baby number 3. We have had new teachers appointed and teachers retire. Miss Watkins is moving on to a new school. Mrs Johnson will be retiring. 2018 saw a number of new schemes. The Playful Futures shed and the Maesglas Chickens are proving to be very popular. On the sporting field we have had many successes. We are delighted to gain the Platinum award from Dragon Sports. So many children have learnt new skills, getting involved in a wide variety of sports. A sincere thank you to all the staff in Maesglas. They give many hours to support and develop the skills in your children. We are lucky to have them. Have a great summer break. We start back on Monday 3rd September. We have a busy week ahead with many enrichment activities taking place.

Children will have the opportunity to experience the process of applying for a job and completing an application form and taking account of job descriptions and associated responsibilities. The positions available will include: Junior Office Assistant, Pupil Governor, Thematic Learning Team member, and Play Leader among others. If your child is interested, they will be asked to formally apply for a position and then, if appropriate, take part in an ‘interview’. Successful candidates will be invited take up their posts for a fixed period of time. Your child will receive payment in the form of positive rewards and privileges such as first dinners. As with any normal employment, children will be able to resign or, in turn, be released from their duties after serving an appropriate notice period. Whilst this is as close to a real life process as possible, at all times we will be sensitive to individual children’s needs. Guidance, support and encouragement will be given throughout. All job advertisements will be displayed on the website and in class. We would appreciate your support; however we would like you to encourage your child to be as independent as possible in this exciting initiative. If you have any questions, please contact me. There will be no crossing patrol after school on the 19th July.
We are still trying to collect £250 of unpaid snack money. Please contact the office as soon as possible to arrange payment.
If you paid for the year your refund is available from the office. Any money not collected by the end of term will transfer to school fund. |
