What a busy week to end the half term.
A great sporting week for Ysgol Maesglas. First our football team playing so well earlier in the week then our tag rugby team yesterday. Well done to our Year 6 Tag Rugby team. They played in the tag festival in Flint and scored some great tries. We are very proud of all of them. We drew 4 matches and were very unlucky not to win those games. The Early Years Teddy Bears Picnic was fantastic on Wednesday. I was lucky enough to get an invite. It was wonderful to see so many people in school enjoying the activities. I am a little disappointed that I couldn't find all of the bears! I would like to thank all the amazing staff here at Ysgol Maesglas for all the hard work this half term. We are very lucky to have them all and they always go above and beyond for the benefit of our pupils. Have an enjoyable week and see you all back in school on Monday 1st June.

A massive well done to our Yr 3 and Yr 4 football team. Winning the competition today to make it to the finals. It was a close final game against Mynydd Isa which we won 2 - 1 on penalties.
Very proud of you all A big well done to our cheerleaders who took part in the Festival of Sport in Deeside.
I managed to watch a rehearsal before they went and they were great. There is a video of the performance that we will be making available for you to see. They will also have the chance to perform at Theatre Clwyd very soon. The Year 5 and Year 6 handball team did us proud in the recent Festival of Sport. They only lost one game all afternoon and managed to win the bronze medal. They showed a great team spirit and we are very proud of them all.
In an effort to be more ‘Eco Friendly’ I will be sending out fewer Newsletters. I will be updating my blog and using our twitter account to share information. Previously we tried emailing letters but had a few issues. If you could make sure school has an up to date email address we will be trying again.

Our pupils in Year 6 and Eco club have worked hard on the planting areas and we hope it stays intact. We do not want a repeat of the pumpkin incident like last year. Many thanks for your support. The National Tests are almost complete! Test week can be difficult for some and can cause extra worries. We are extremely proud of all our children this week who have had a go and not given up with some tricky questions.
Well done everybody Enjoy the long weekend. We will see you back in school on Tuesday 5th May. A reminder that it will be tests next week for Yr 2 to Yr 6 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Congratulations to our Year 3 Netball team who traveled to Deeside to play in the Funky Fives netball festival. This was the teams first ever competition. They played with a lot of determination and never gave up, even when some of the opposition were as tall as Miss Collins!
We are very proud of the girls and know that we will have a great netball team for next season. |
