What a busy half term!
We are saying goodbye to Mrs Garcia at the end of this term. I would like to thank her for all her great work in Ysgol Maesglas and wish her well for the future. Mrs Hiller will be starting after Easter. I would also like to wish Mrs Pearce well as she starts her maternity leave. We will keep you posted with any baby news. Many thanks to all the parents that could make it to parents evenings this week. It was great to see so many of you here. We really appreciate your support. The egg competition was a huge success. We were amazed with the number of entries and the standard was very impressive. The Governors had the difficult task of judging. Look out for our winners on twitter. Hope you all have a wonderful Easter and we will see the children back in school on Tuesday 14th April.

Sure to be a strange day in school today with the Solar Eclipse happening this morning. We have gone over the safety measures with the children and staff will keep reminding children throughout the morning.
Nursery and Reception are having a special banquet this morning which they have planned as part of this terms topic. I was very pleased to receive my invitation early this week, they even called me Sir Cass, some disappointed people thought they were inviting the Circus! Don't forget the egg competition next week. The prizes are in the building! There is also the adult category so get creative and see what you can come up with. The rules are simple. Any designs you like using any materials you like as long as a hard boiled egg or eggs are in there somewhere. Closing date will be Wednesday so judging can take place ready for the eggsembly on Friday. The big pedal is going well and we are really pleased with the children that have Scooted and Biked to school. We would like to keep this going and any children that you feel can safely travel to school on bikes and scooters are very welcome to do so. Finally for today, after a few technical issues with the email we will be trying to email letters again. If you could make sure Mrs Smith in the office has an up to date email address we will get you on the contacts list. Have a great weekend Mr Cass Just a quick update on things going on in Ysgol Maesglas.
Our Smiley Club has now come to an end but the children and staff celebrated in style with a lovely trip out to Spavens. I even got to go for an hour to join in with the fun. We had our first Parent Council meeting last night. Lynsey Woodhouse, our 'Family Support Worker' is helping to get things started and we are pleased that the first meeting was very interesting. If you are interested in getting involved with the Parent Council more information will be out soon. The Big Pedal challenge is going well. We are really pleased to see so many of the children biking and scooting to school safely. I have my bike ready today and will be joining the children at dinnertime for a pedal round the playground. We are all looking forward to the Year 4 Red Nose day assembly this afternoon. They even made a special video where I had to make a cameo appearance. I am sure the pictures will be on twitter later! As always we are so grateful for all your kind donations towards a very worthwhile charity. We sold out of red noses very early in the week. I will tweet the final amount raised by the end of the day. Thanks also to Sainsbury's for donating refreshments for us to sell to raise extra money for Red nose day. Easter Bingo is on the 18th March. Eyes down at 6pm. We look forward to seeing you there. Many Thanks for your continued support. |
