On Thursday 22nd it is Thinking Day for Rainbows, Brownies and Guides.
Children can come to school in the Rainbows/Brownies/Guides uniform.
In light of the current financial situation across Flintshire we are having to look at a NO DEBT policy relating to the provision of school meals and snacks.
At the moment any debts are incurred, then the school budget has to pay for them. This means that money which should be spent on the children’s education is used to pay for debts incurred by parents.
I am sure every parent will agree that this is unacceptable and we request that all parents give their full support.
I am sure you would not take your child out for a meal expect them to be given food without paying; the same applies at school.
If parents believe that their children may qualify for entitlement to Free School Meals please contact our family support team for more details. This allowance is a statutory right and it is important that you use it if you qualify. We will help you all we can with your application. You should also be aware that securing your free entitlement increases the funds available to your school.
Hope you have all had a good week. Looking forward to catching up tomorrow.
You might have already spotted on Twitter that there are no clubs after school this week (Minecraft is on).
This is due to staff Well Being training. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Clubs will start again the wb 26/2/18
Just wanted to wish all Maesglas families and Staff a restful and happy half term.
Remember we start back on Monday 19th February.
World Book Day is on the 1st of March this year. This is the same day as our Eisteddfod.
We ask that children come to school on this day dressed in tradition Welsh costume or house colours.
We will be having our World Book Day activities on the 2nd. The children do not need to dress up on this day.
Many thanks to the visitors that made it to our Nursery meeting after school. We hope you enjoyed your visit and look forward to welcoming you to Maesglas in September.
Sincere thanks to all the staff that stayed to welcome our guests.
Can you please remind children that they don't need to bring slime to school?
It is making a mess around school and proving difficult to clean.
Thanks very much.
Our Year 6 children have had an invite to be involved in the WW1 Commemorative Project.
We have the list of names from Greenfield War Memorial 1914 -1918.
We will try and produce a fact file about each person on the roll of honour. We will then be involved in the act of remembrance on the 11th November.
Can you help? Do you know any of the families below?
