We have come to the end of a long term and I am sure the whole school community is looking forward to a well-earned rest.
I would particularly like to thank all the staff. They have all worked so hard to give our children a wonderful week packed with so many events. A special mention to Miss Collins for sorting the celebrity video and to Roughcuts for putting it all together. On behalf of everybody at Ysgol Maesglas, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year. See you in 2019.

The afternoon will allow children the chance to work with parents and showcase their Welsh language. You will also get to see what they get up to in school. We will have refreshments and activities in each year group from Reception to Year 6. Please come and enjoy our diwrnod Cymraeg (Welsh Day). Following the Christmas concerts we will be donating the 'silver box' money to DAFFODILS. They are a self-help group for disabled children and their immediate families. We have rounded it up as a school so they will be getting £100.
The raffle from each concert raised £339.70 and ticket sales raised £750. We will be asking the children what they think they need for class. Many thanks for your generosity at this expensive time of year. People have mentioned to me that a few concert pictures are now on social media.
Before you get too annoyed, it is important to remember that people usually only have the best intentions. They are just excited to share photos with family and friends, and not necessarily thinking they might be upsetting others. Can you please check any images that you have posted remembering that not everyone wants pictures on Social Media? If you want to post pictures please consider edit/crop/blur out people on images so everyone is happy. Our Nursery children (and staff) really enjoyed getting on the stage this morning. They were all amazing.
Thanks to everyone that attended. I hope you enjoyed it. mailchi.mp/d6cd878c0742/one-world-club-feature?e=1b28d557dd
I am so pleased to share this link with you. Our One World Club are one of the first to reach 50 one world points. You can see that they are on a par with a school in Mexico and the U.S. The work they are doing is showing that we can all make a difference. Thanks once again to Mrs Hughes for supporting our One Worlders. I can't wait to see what the next project will be. What a great concert last night. We are so proud of all our children they were amazing. Many thanks for all the lovely comments on twitter.
Thanks to all the FP team that made it possible. We are lucky to have you. What a concert it was this afternoon! It was lovely to hear all the different year groups singing a mixture of traditional and new Christmas songs.
We have so much talent in school with some beautiful singing voices. It is not the easiest thing to stand up in front of a big audience and we are so proud of all our pupils. Thank you to all who came to support. I hope you all enjoyed it. |
