If your child is entitled to Free School Meals you should have had a letter in the past few days from FCC telling you about changes that are taking place. Delivery of lunches will end on Friday 15th May and you will have been asked to provide FCC with various details so that they can then pay money into your bank directly.
If you have not received this letter, please get in touch with us or FCC to get the matter sorted. If you have received the letter but are unable to give the details needed because you cannot access the website, I will be in school on Tuesday 5th May 9-11am and you can come down and use our computers to fill in the forms with us (Observing hygiene and social distancing requirements) then. Thanks

Hello All and welcome back -ish after the Easter break. I hope that in spite of all the restrictions and anxieties you have been able to have some quality family time.
The first and most important message I have is that whilst we are back to setting ideas for home learning for you and your children, these are not compulsory! Each parent and child is different and what might be working for some may not work for others. Your child's (and your) mental health and well being are first and foremost and if what you need to do is play in the garden and do some colouring whist watching TV that is fine. No child or parent should feel pressured into being sat at a table trying to do some long multiplication! The flip side of this is that some children really need the routine of sitting down to work and having their days mapped out for them and for these children we are putting work online. Some are completing it and sending it back to us online and some are doing it their own way. It is important that you do what is right for you and your family and do not compare what you are doing with what other families are doing. We are all dealing with the situation in the best way we can. When we get your children back we will do what we always do....look at the individual and meet their needs to the very best of our ability. So please, try and enjoy the time with your children and do what is right for you and them! The next message is that IF you are in a position to do some work, we have loads of ideas to help you fill the time. If you are still struggling with getting the tech up and running, please get in touch with the following staff for advice RM Easimaths - ghhead@hwbcymru.net Purple Mash - k.jones@ysgolmaesglas.co.uk Hwb - c.pearce@ysgolmaesglas.co.uk Googleclassrooms and Flipgrid - d.oldfield@ysgolmaesglas.co.uk We will be updating you via Twitter and email and of course via the blog on the website so please check back as and when you can. We will also still be running the regular routine of the school with our Learning Powers on a Monday, our Phrase of the Week and our Headteacher and Seren yr Wythnos awards. Hopefully these will help your children feel still connected to us. And our final message is that Julie Reece is available for you for Family Support during normal school hours. She can be reached by email j.kinnair@ysgolmaesglas.co.uk or by direct message on Twitter. I hope you are taking some time to enjoy the sunshine. Keep Well and Stay Safe Morning all and thank you for the amazing work you have been doing over the past few weeks.
I have loved the messages about whether we have an Easter break or not! The answer is of course yes...all teachers, those that are teaching from home, those that have suddenly found themselves teaching instead of their day jobs and those that are currently trying to teach their class remotely and their own kids in the kitchen need a break...as do the children! So for the next two weeks we will not be updating any of our digital learning platforms. But work will begin again on Monday 20th April with staff uploading more tasks and sending more ideas through. That doesn't mean we will be disappearing though. Staff have been told to step away from their google classrooms, eat some chocolate and relax a little but Julie and I are still here if you have a problem other than school work. So you can email me on ghhead@hwbcymru.net or send either of us a direct message on Twitter. From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank the whole school community, parents, pupils and school staff who have pulled together and supported each other through these past few weeks. And can I say a big thank you to those staff whose family circumstances have allowed them to be able to volunteer some time over the Easter holiday to provide Key Worker Childcare Provision for the Resilience Hub in Holywell. |
