Look out for two websites that your children will be using very soon.  User names and passwords will be sent out soon.
Fiction Express.   The website provides gripping, interactive e-books delivered in weekly episodes. Readers decide the plot through a weekly vote.  The latest story is out today!
EasiMaths - fun maths games that the children can play in school and at home.

Yr 5 completed the cycling proficiency this week with bike-ability.  They had a great time and have a greater understanding of staying safe on their bikes.

Class and team photos on Wednesday 29th April.

Good luck to our Football and Netball teams.
Yr 3 and Yr 4 Football competition on Monday 27th April.
Yr 3 and Yr 4 Netball on Tuesday 28th April 1pm.

Welcome Back

Welcome back to the summer term.  I hope you all had a great Easter.

You may have spotted on twitter the changes to our media room.  Today the children have started to use it with our IT specialist, Mr Simon Hanlon.  This is a great opportunity for us and we are looking forward to seeing and hearing the fantastic work they are going to be doing with the TV and Radio station.

On Friday 17th of April it will be our first Plant Yr Cwm (Children of the Valley) trip.  We are taking the whole school (Rec to Yr 6) to Greenfield Valley to take part in a variety of activities.  We are going to visit and work with Greenfield Valley once a term making use of the outdoor space so close to school.  Please send children in with coats and appropriate footwear.  We will try and go whatever the weather.

Just another reminder that test week is week starting 4th May.  It is really important that the children are in school.  We will try and keep the week as normal as possible for the children so they do not get too nervous.

Holiday forms

The holiday form system.

All holidays will need to be recorded on a ‘Application for pupil leave of absence for holiday’ (available from the office).  I will then consider the following using a scoring system before authorising the holiday.
Previous attendance history.  The age of the child.  The time of year.  The nature of the trip.  If holiday already taken within the school year.  If parents are restricted in leave from their employer.

A score of 8 or more will not be authorised.

If you have any questions about this please get in touch.
