We would like to invite you to pop in and say hello and look around our Early Years Area on Tuesday 6th February from 3pm - 4.30pm. Staff will be available to help you with the online application process. We look forward to meeting you. This issue was raised with me by one of our School Governors who found a post from Kent Police. I have contacted the school and can verify that the concerns are from a real source.
They have concerns about the app ROBLOX. The children playing the game are able to get online friends. The friends can then send messages to each other. This means messages from strangers. There are then issues with inappropriate content. Please check if your child is playing the game. Have a look at the ROBLOX account and look to see if they have friends that they don't know. Then check the inbox for any inappropriate messages. At a recent Governors meeting it was agreed that we will start to hire out the school hall for any meetings, events or parties.
The cost will be £30 for the first hour then an additional £5 per hour after that. Please call in or contact the main office with any booking requests. On Thursday 25th January we will be holding an information session after school.
This will include a presentation on PiXL and strategies you can use to help support your child. This will focus on Year 5 and Year 6 but all parents are very welcome to attend. The first session will be at 3.30pm and we will redo the same presentation at 5.15pm. Hope you can make it. Please visit yourschoollottery.co.uk and search for Maesglas
The more people that enter the bigger the prize. We do have quite a few children in school with a rash at the moment. Some GPs have said they are fine to be in and others have told parents to keep children off.
We have contacted the School Nurse team and they have spoken to Public Health Wales. They have said that children are ok to be in school with the rash if it is from 'slapped cheek'. Obviously we are not able to tell what rash is slapped cheek or not as children react differently. Please seek medical advice if you are concerned. After school clubs will be starting next week.
Look out for letters so you can sign up. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on first come first served basis.
